Rapid Responders

PPC Members know how to have fun as they gather to craft the latest Rapid Responders Alert.

Let your voice be heard! AAUW women are knowledgeable, intelligent and informed. Our elected officials need to hear from us on legislation that affects the lives of women, girls and families. You can become a Rapid Responder with a minimum time commitment and no meetings.

The South Haven Public Policy Committee (PPC) established Rapid Responders (RR) as part of its advocacy initiate. RR Alerts reflect PPC priorities and are aligned with National AAUW priorities:

  • Advocate for High-Quality Public Education
  • Advocate for Economic Security, Civil Rights, and Equality
  • Advocate for Women’s Health, Well-Being, and Reproductive Self-Determination
  • Promote Citizen Participation in Our Democratic Society

Join 61 other members who are Rapid Responders and make a difference with minimum time commitment and no meetings!

  • You will receive an email alert with the bill number and pertinent information. We include the position of our Public Policy Committee, and those of Michigan and/or National AAUW, when appropriate.
  • AAUW members are knowledgeable women so we provide information but do not tell you how to state your position.
  • The email alert provides contact information for specific officials, including email, phone, and mailing address.
  • We will ask you to make the contact within a specific number of days, usually five, unless it is something that requires immediate action.

We want our elected officials to recognize that the South Haven affiliate of AAUW is an influential organization and that its members pay attention to legislation. We encourage you to include the following statement (or words to this effect) in your message:

“I am a member of the South Have Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women). We have 150+ members who study the issues, vote, and influence how our families, friends, and neighbors vote.”
